Acme has four facilities scattered throughout the Midwest producing tennis rackets and accessories. Each facility is approximately GSF with half of the square footage of each building dedicated to a production environment and half to office space to support Acmes sales staff.
The Facility Manager Fred Maintainer has developed a great working relationship with Mike Mooney, the Chief Financial Officer CFO and he has been asked to attend important businesswide discussions on the future direction of the companys $ million operation. One of the decisions to be made is whether another production line should be opened to manufacture both racquetball and pickleball racketspaddles Of the $ million in sales, Freds budget is $ million so he plays an important role in shaping how and where Acme will spend its valuable resources.
Fred has developed a plan to lease an additional GSF in space for a new plant near one of Acmes existing facilities.
Assignment
Using some of the concepts we have learned about leasing space, write a memorandum to the CFO of Acme outlining the costs of your proposal in one page or less. Make sure you include the type of lease, lease costs and what they include. The memo should include the date it was written, who it is to whom it is from, a subject line to indicate what the memo is about, an introductory paragraph, the body and a summary statement. We will go over and share your work products in a forum so we can see how each of you addressed this assignment.
