Background:

Organizations often implement information systems by using a methodology known as a systems development lifecycle (SDLC). An SDLC may also be known as an application development lifecycle. This tried-and-true successful approach is combined with sound project management practices to develop key project milestones, allocate resources, select personnel, and perform the tasks needed to accomplish a project's objectives. SDLC may also be applied to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of a security program.
