In completing the self-assessment tool I learned how much more i want to learn during my intern ship at Room iIn the Inn Shelter and there is so many more opportunities to enhavnce my knowlege and skills in working with the unhoused population. During my field placement, I am looking forward to gaining experience with the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) database utilized at RITI. This system is instrumental in tracking and monitoring individuals experiencing homelessness. HMIS gathers data on demographics, needs, and services provided to these individuals, which is crucial for comprehending the extent of homelessness in a community and the specific needs of this group. The data collected via HMIS aids in making informed decisions about resource allocation. By understanding the demographics of those served, those not served, and the effectiveness of various services, communities can optimize their resource distribution.
