The pre$-$flight announcement includes many important pieces of information. The directions listed below should be followed when making the pre$-$flight announcement.

First, welcome the customers onboard stating the flight number and service to the destination city.

Instruct customers to fasten their seatbelts in preparation for takeoff.

An optional piece of information to share, if available, is to announce how many minutes until the plane will take off and be in the air.

Immediately after you tell customers to fasten their seatbelts, direct them to put their seats and tray tables in the upright position.

Remind customers to store their carry$-$on luggage under the seat in front of them or in the overhead bin before you tell customers to fasten their seatbelts.

The final required pre$-$flight announcement for all flights is to request that customers turn off all personal electronic devices.

If the flight duration is $70$ minutes or longer and boarding is on time, let customers know that they may view the beverage and food options on the menu in the seat$-$back pocket in front of them. If boarding is delayed, do not make this announcement.
