Based on the information provided below fill out tables and make new tables for additional leadership outcomes and skills
Leadership Development Plan
Currently, it is evident that my leadership skills are all rounded in most cases such as team-building, adaptability and even areas that are still in need of a bit more improvement such as strategic thinking and effective communication. There are other areas which I need to develop as well including delegating tasks, maintaining work-life balance and facing conflicts head on. However in two years I plan to enhance several areas of my leadership capabilities and focus on developing these areas to achieve my specific leadership goals. An assessment of my progress will be evaluated quarterly to ensure that I will maintain a high standard when going through this progress.
Identifying Strengths and Growth Areas
Top Three Strengths
- Strategic Thinking: I have the ability to develop both short and long term plans to determine SMART objectives
- Effective Communication: I possess the capacity to encourage open discussions and effectively express expected goals
- Adaptability: I am able to effectively change my behaviour decisions and goals based on the changing environment and even provide significant solutions to deal with challenges faced.
Top Three Growth Areas
- Delegation: As shown by the study I would need to learn to overcome the urge to assume excessive amounts of workload as it could negatively affect other areas within my life health and physical-wise
- Work-Life Balance: Based on the issues stated prior this would also have a negative effect on balancing between my personal activities and work responsibilities. It is essential to prioritize self care and personal affairs.
- Confrontation: I will also need to learn how to directly address disagreements compared to my usual behaviours of being non-confrontational to avoid issues and resolving them.

Notes:
- There needs to be one table per leadership outcome and each leadership skill identified.
- There is one minor difference between the table for the leadership outcome and table for the leadership skill, that is, for the skill both the current and future state is explained.
- Leadership skills is the development of soft skills, and the plan should be made up of appropriate future steps identified from all the sections of the portfolio.
- An assignment is equivalent to a project; it is made up of many activities. It is something significant.
- Training can include: paid training; free training (there are a lot of alternatives here); YouTube videos; reading books capturing the ideas and putting into practice.
- The Leadership Development Plan does not require you to have your employer, manager and or mentor to sign off. It is self-led and self-directed in keeping with the theme of this portfolio. If you would like to have input from persons in your network or organizations, you can solicit same for feedback and or guidance.
- If you are currently unemployed, assignments can be replaced by activities.
