Based on the requirements for Essay 1, here is a suggestion of how to organize your paragraphs:

INTRODUCTION SECTION

Your introduction section may be more than one paragraph!

introduce the topic through an engaging hook

provide context/background to lead the reader gently to your major claim/thesis statement

I recommend integrating one of our Unit 1 texts (or Canvas resources) to help you to define and explain the concept of "worldview"

My worldview is based on scientific understanding.......................

a. Introduce the concept of worldview and the ways in which inherited and/or informed assumptions, beliefs, and values make up a worldview (be creative: you may use definition, narration, description, analogy, a famous person, a personal story, and/or one of the many resources from this unit); your major claim should establish the focus for your essay.

My worldview is based on scientific understanding.......................

First, you need to define worldview using one of our Project 1 resources??

  1. Does the intro include an engaging hook? Does it provide appropriate background and context? Does the intro lead the reader gently to the writer's major claim/thesis?

Our family made a deliberate effort to support environmentally-conscious businesses and volunteer for community initiatives..

HOW did your family make an effort? WHAT did they do?????

I have always believed that all living things have inherent worth and deserve a certain level of respectthis belief grew from both the conservation-minded values of my family and my own experiences connecting with nature in different environments. As we begin to consider the gifts of the environment with sustainability in mind, I practice environmental stewardship through actions such as reducing waste, recycling, waste reclamation, and supporting environmentally-minded businesses. I also hold in high regard community commitments to environmental stewardship, as community action can have a greater influence than individual action. ............

See the Project 1 guidelines -- you need to tell your own story sharing at least one vivid example of how your worldview has been inherited and also informed. I've noted areas where you could do this.????

both the conservation-minded values both the conservation-minded values......

develop this further. share at least one of your experiences???

I feel like I am fulfilling this purpose by participating in local environmental efforts (trash pick-ups and tree planting). In the end, It would be fun to level up my involvement in these environmental advocacy efforts and teaching about this storytelling or sustainability through workshop initiatives- or create some other policy-level related efforts. Continuing my efforts to lower the use of materials i. e going eco-friendly, renewables or water-saving techniques But all of the things above for me goes back to an understanding of environmentalism and with that came a scientific approach, which in turn reflects in my pursuit of whittling out a more sustainable future.

participating in local environmental efforts.....

Share at least one specific example of these efforts -- i.e. how has tree planting shaped your commitment to the environment????

protection of the environment are contradictory. The paper considers the concept of being too balanced and proposes that in some circumstances economic growth deserves higher value than environmental protection, leading to ecological damage. Yes, the growth-to-standards-of-living path is something I can understand and have said before that it is true in my case. No, I do not believe the answer is to sacrifice environmental protection as if economic gain and unbalanced..........

See the Project 1 Guidelines for this section of the essay -- you should integrate at least one direct quote from this source and respond to it.???????

  1. Do the body paragraphs effectively explore and support the major claim? Do the body paragraphs respond to "Tasks c, d, and e" from the Project 1 Guidelines? Does the writer use both vivid autobiographical AND source evidence to develop ideas and support the major claim

Being an environmentalist and a passionate commitment to the environment, I have hopefully an objective point of view. The way I see the situation: you can not have sustainable economic development without conservation and enhancement of the environment. I was a little moderate on purpose to see how I fare and it does appear in soft form. This piece has helped me think of strongly enforced regulations as a means to balance between the economic pursuit at one end.
