Patient information: 7 year old typically developing Anya was recently diagnosed with Sickle Cell disease and has been hospitalized for an extended period of time for a pain crisis. Anya has a 4 year and old 11 year old sibling at home who lives 5 hours away from the hospital and can only visit on weekends. Anya's dad is staying with Anya working from the hospital while her mom works and takes care of the siblings.

Goal: With the help of a Child Life Specialist, 7 year old Anya and her two siblings ages 4 and 11 will be better able to identify and express their emotions about their sister's diagnosis of Sickle Cell disease.
