Based upon what you learned thus far, I would like us to discuss how you believe we should proceed with our project decisions. For example, what is your opinion thus far as to changing the health delivery system in both communities. Please select one of the following and state your case for such actions based upon the learning outcome thus far:

Closing one facility and only having one hospital serving the entire population of the two adjacent communities.

Merge the hospitals to form a new corporation, name change and re$-$deploy services so that financial solvency may be achieved. Some consolidation and reduction in services would take place. Mergers could be considered with a larger regional trauma center. The major goal is to achieve self$-$sufficiency within the healthcare delivery system.

Close one hospital and maintain it as an urgent care center with supporting ancillary and diagnostic services.

Leave the situation as is and wait for one facility to realize they can no longer survive in the manner they are operating.

Consolidate the two facilities and redirect the overhead savings to new and needed services relating to health education and wellness.
