For this assignment you will combine all of the skills we have learned so far in class. This exercise will be graded as a Project (30% of grade) and is worth 50 points. You may work together with others, but you must complete your own work and upload your own files. A completed assignment will consist of a three deliverables:

1) a PDF of your Activity Model (BPMN), Data Structure Model (UML), and Table Listing,

2) a valid Access Database file (ending in .accdb) showing your completed work, and

3) answering the questions in part 6 below on this Canvas Quiz.

Note: You will have two attempts to complete the Quiz, so you can retry if your first try resulted in incorrect answers.

Follow the instructions below to complete the exercise.

  1. Read the Baer Belly Bikini's company description in Chapter 5 in your book (page 154).
  2. Based on the preceding information, prepare a BPMN activity model that describes BBB's Sales to Retailers process. The model should begin with retailers placing orders and end when BBB collects payments for the sales to the retailers.
  3. Based on the company description and the attributes list (in the book), prepare a data structure diagram using UML class modeling notation of BBB's sales to retailers process. Also, prepare a table listing (literally just a list of table names and their attributes) and list the tables in the following order: resources, events, agents, and linking tables. Identify the primary keys and foreign keys in each table (for example, by prefixing the attribute with a [pk] or [fk].
  4. Download the BBB information spreadsheet. Download Download the BBB information spreadsheet.Create a new Access database, and import each worksheet in the spreadsheet into the database. Set appropriate primary keys.
  5. After importing all the data, create relationships among tables to implement the data model as you described it.
  6. Prepare queries to answer the following questions: a. What was BBB's total sales in the month of October? b. Which BBB product generated the largest sales volume? (List all products in descending order of sales dollars) c. The company was recently notified that Sales Rep Leza Kloosterman has been indicted by the FBI for financial fraud crimes at a previous employer. The crimes involved creating fictitious sales transactions. BBB's auditors are now worried about fictitious sales in on BBB's books. If, indeed, all of Leza Kloosterman's sales are fictitious and need to be written off, what will be the magnitude of the write off?
