BC$-$Sales$-$Order$-$Fulfillment Process

Purpose

The purpose of this simple assignment is to familiarize you with BPMN by using a software of your choice $($e$.$g$.$ Aris Modeler, heflo.com, etc.$)$ so that you can create a business process model comfortably and effectively in your term projects.

I will be looking for a good understanding of process modeling, not for a deep understanding of the actual process.

Scenario

For this assignment you will model the process based on the description given below. You may add more detail to the process as you see fit.

ABC Company$$s $$Sales Order Fulfillment$$ Business Process:

The process starts when a customer submits an order. The order processing clerk will determine the type of order. There are three possible types of order: $5\%$ of the orders are $$rejected$,45\%$ of the orders are for off the shelf products, and $50\%$ of the orders require assembly.

$$ For rejected order, a $$customer rejection notice$($a letter$)$ will be sent to customer.

$$ For the off the shelf products ordered, a customer order form will be filled out, assembly personnel will pack customer order, to make a package, the shipping clerk will then ship the customer product to the customer.

$$ For the orders that require assembly, the order processing clerk will also fill out an assembly notice and send it along with the customer order form to the assembly personnel. Based on both the customer order form and assembly notice, the assembly personnel will pack customer order. Then the packaged order will be shipped to customer by shipping personnel.

Your process model must have the following elements to receive $70\%$ of the grade:

$$ multiple swimlanes $--$ at least the ones specified in the given description must be presented. You can add extra ones if you try to add more details

$$ at least two decision gateways with choices labeled clearly.
