Below is the diagram needed for the question. In this section we are looking at how we will hook up all of the devices in our
local IT closets and the data center. Using the diagram provided previously,
calculate a scalable estimate of how many devices that will need an ethernet
port made available to them in the individual IT closets. Therefore, each IT
room needs to have a listing of what types of switches you want, how many
switches you will need, and how many ports should be available. Include
whether or not these switches will be required to support PoE.
Be cognizant of how much power you will need for your switches if they will
be supporting the Wi-Fi and VoIP devices. Be detailed in what type of
switches you will be using and their available throughput. Much of this data
can be found on the switch or access point devices datasheet. Your
calculations should include the number of ports needed for Wi-Fi devices,
hardline devices (computers), and VoIP phones as well. Allow for future
scalability.
Show a table, spreadsheet, or other method on how you came up with your
tabulation of ports needed. Once each IT closet has been calculated, note
what type of cable will be used to connect each IT closet to the main data
center if you make any changes.
Any diagrams can be placed in the appendix section and referenced in your
discussion. In your discussion include why you chose your plan, how it will
support the company and how it is scalable for the future. Cisco Meraki
switches have been installed as noted in class. If you want switches with
detailed information available to you, just then use meraki.cisco.com as your
reference for switch models.
