BH$20303$ GROUP PROJECT $(20\%)$

Students are required to prepare a research proposal for a potential research project in the field of labour economics. Students are not expected to undertake the proposed project and not required to provide a very detail and too technical methodology such as regression equation or other method estimations. The objective of this assignment is to ensure students can apply labour economics theories to analytically provide suggestions and solutions to labour market issues.

The research proposal should include the following features:

$$ A title.

$$ A one page "executive summary" of your proposal.

$$ A description of the issues you propose to investigate.

Why are these issues interesting and important?

What are the questions you would aim to answer?

How do the aims of your proposed study fit in with existing research?

$$ The data and methodology that you propose to use.

You should indicate what kind of data your proposed study requires $($for example, information about earnings, immigration status, etc.$),$

and provide an indication of where such data might be found $($for example, the DOSM Census, Labour Force Department, survey and so on$).$

$$ How would your proposed research project be useful for policy purposes?

$$ What knowledge will be brought forth by your study that would have considerable value to individuals or organizations making recommendations on policies? Your discussion on this point does not involve finding a way to produce the "right" answer; rather, it is exploring questions that will provide new insight, whatever the results of your research might be$.$

Here are the guidelines

Students have to write their report in groups of $5$ to $7.$

The report has to be submitted as a PDF file through ITEL and hard copy, the deadline of submission is on the WEEK $9.$

Proposal must be original and any plagarism will not be tolerated. Similarity index should be not more than $30\%.$

Can be written in Malay or English.

If the proposal found to be similar with other student, answers will not be graded $($Similarity less than $30\%$ can be accepted$).$

Please include references$/$bibliographies in your proposal. Without references marks will be deducted.

Late submission of your proposal will NOT be accepted.
