Question:
Biblical Quote: "Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20, Lucado, (NKJV), 1995/1979). Reflection: As you work in the field of counseling, you may see clients that work with probation officers. It is easy to want to cordially work with the probation team. However, their perspective is typically focused on the legal record of the client. It is important to be an advocate for your client. There are other probation officers that are hoping for positive change in their clients and are willing to help in whatever way they can. The closer we become to someone's probation officer, the harder it becomes to maintain trust with the client if they have a challenging relationship with the probation officer. It is not our job to judge our client's behavior - it is our job to counsel them in hopes of improving their behavior. Question: How would you use this verse when working with a friendly probation officer?
