Biz Caf$$ Presentation

Purpose:

Through critical thinking and analysis, students will evaluate the decisions and results of the Biz

Caf$$ simulation in connection to the content of the course Introduction to Business. Further,

students will determine whether or not their franchise is on track to repay the start$-$up loan

extended by Jane Valdez.

Instructions:

$*$Only $1$ submission required per team.

Based on your combined Biz Caf$$ experience, your group$$s presentation should address each

of the following topics:

$1.$ Introduction $$ provide a brief introduction of your franchise and presentation. This

should include your franchise name and franchise team, the inspiration behind the caf$$

name. As well as an agenda of what it to come.

$2.$ Marketing $$ provide an overview your team$$s marketing strategy and comment on its

results. Discuss your target customer and how your overall strategy focused on them.

DO NOT discuss all of the $4$ P$$s but you can identify $1-2$ elements of the marketing mix

that were important to your strategy.

Finish with a BRIEF comment on any marketing successes or challenges and IDENTIFY

ONE KEY LEARNING from a marketing perspective.

$3.$ Human Resources $$ provide a summary of your human resource i$.$e$.$ staffing levels and

wages, how they compared to the industry average. Briefly highlight key strategies and

decisions that impacted employee productivity.

Finish with a BRIEF comment on any human resource successes or challenges $($i$.$e$.$

turnover$)$ and IDENTIFY ONE KEY LEARNING from an HR perspective.

$4.$ Supply Chain and Operations $$ provide an overview of the operations side of your

caf$$s$.$ This should include how your team increased capacity, determined the ideal

capacity utilization level and estimated coffee and cup purchases.

Finish with a BRIEF comment on any operational successes or challenges $($i$.$e$.$

emergency purchases, excess inventory$)$ your team faced in this area and IDENTIFY

ONE KEY LEARNING

$7.$ Final Comments$/$Conclusion $$ repeat the key learnings from each section and finish

with a concluding comment about the impact this simulation has had $($if any$).$

Your final presentation should be between $1012$ minutes in length
