Research Report: Data Collection and Analysis Assignment Instructions

This assignment will utilize your survey questionairre from Appendix A to gather data for analysis related to your research problem. Review the Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting section in the course text and the Presentation: Using Excel for Data Analysis. There will be 2 file submissions for this assignment: the Excel file containing the coded data that includes a code guide, and the Research Report as a continuation of your Research Report: Research Problem Assignment Word document.

Submit the coded data from your survey results in an Excel file by building an Excel spreadsheet to include every survey question organized by respondent (row) and survey question (column).

In order to get the best results from your data analysis, you will need to code your responses that are not already numerical. For example, if your question asked if the respondent was male or female, male=1, and female=2. If it was yes or no question, yes=1, no=2. Please include a code guide in the Excel file. Your Excel document submission is your coded data with a code chart to clarify what the numbers stand for. You can post the Code Guide in Sheet 2 of your Excel file if that is easier for you. As an example, the start of your coded data and code guide might look something like this:

Code Guide: Gender: 1=male, 2=female Age Range: 1=18-24, 2=25-30, etc. Q1 (5 point likert scale): 1=very unlikely, 2=unlikely, 3=neutral, etc.

Submit 3 tables that were created in Excel from your data, inclusive of 1 frequency table (called a histogram in Excel) and 2 cross-tabulation tables (called a Pivot Table in Excel). This needs to be relevant information that will directly address your stated research problem. You will submit 3 tables created using Excel in Appendix B. Under each table, you will write an analysis of the data in least 150 words. At least 1 table must be turned into a graph (either a bar or pie chart). Place this material (three charts/tables and three written analyses) as Appendix B in your APA-formatted research report Word document, and submit this part as a compilation with your prior Research Report assignment components.
