Business Project Instructions $($Also see Module Week $2)$This class includes a service learning component. A project$/$business plan will be part of this service learning component. You are asked to consider business opportunities that may exist in Grant County $($or other areas$/$regions$)$ by proposing starting a new business venture or expanding an existing business that its already in Grant County $($or other areas$/$regions$).$ You may want to consider a particular manufacturing business, services, tourism, or others. You can propose to study any entrepreneurial enterprise that you deem as feasible for this county. This is a learning project where it is hoped that the skills, theories, and ideas you have been learning about in your business degree will be successfully applied to economic business development and then you will be gaining additional knowledge of how to do this for future businesses you may be involved with after graduation.For this project you can work alone or can work in a team of two or three. If you desire to work in a team of two or three, that will be of your choosing and design, but must also be pre$-$approved and you will be responsible for all aspects of the project in case anyone bails out. That means even if for some reason your team members do not complete the work $($you are responsible none$-$the$-$less for the entire project$)$ You will be responsible for contacting that potential team member$($s$)$ and it must be agreeable between the two or three of you that you work together on the business plan. You each will receive the same grade as one project will be submitted for your team of two or three. If you work alone, that is acceptable, too. Students will have to let me know what you like to do$.$ Please email in canvas and post in your proposal your team or individual work status. You Should also submit all names with our drafts. Basically, you are required to create a full business plan for this new or expanded business. This requires you to research the strengths, weaknesses, business opportunities, and threats $($including competitive landscape$).$ Please recognize that this is a comprehensive business plan that you have to develop and is something you need to work on all semester. If working in teams, it is not acceptable to just assign one section of the project to be completed by one team member and another part the next team member. EVERY PART has to be developed as a collaborative project with input from each team member. Everything has to be aligned and in order for that to happen, each team member has to be engaged in each part.Start with research on businesses in Grant County $($or other areas$/$regions$)$ and learn all you can about them $($demographics$,$ resources, limitations$,$ etc.$),$ then determine business opportunities. From there create a consideration set of business opportunities and develop a SWOT analysis on each. From there, select the one that presents itself as most worthy, and then declare that business venture for your project theme for approval$/$submission in your draft.
