Objective:

The goal of this assignment is to implement the Apriori algorithm to discover association rules within a grocery store dataset. Students will gain hands$-$on experience in data mining and association rule learning.

Dataset:

Use the following grocery store transaction dataset:

Transaction $1$: Chips, Soda, Ice Cream

Transaction $2$:s Soda, Cookies, Dip

Transaction $3$: Chips, Cookies, Ice Cream

Transaction $4$: Chips, Soda, Cookies

Transaction $5$: Chips, Soda, Ice Cream

Transaction $6$: Chips, Soda, Cookies, Dip

Transaction $7$: Chips, Cookies, Dip

Transaction $8$: Cookies, Ice Cream

Transaction $9$: Soda, Dip

Transaction $10$: Chips, Soda, Cookies, Ice Cream

Set a minimum support threshold $($e$.$g$.,30\%)$ and identify frequent itemsets.

Generate Association Rules:

Set a minimum confidence threshold $($e$.$g$.,80\%)$ and use the frequent itemsets to generate association rules.

Interpretation and Analysis:

Analyze the generated association rules.

Provide insights into the relationships between different items based on the rules.

Documentation:

Document the entire process, including explanations of parameter choices, and the interpretation of results.
