I believe that worker rights are sometimes communicated in the workplace based on the type of the organization. If the organization is under a unionized environment, the rights are clearly explained and is probably the first thing that is done. On the other hand, I have been in some organizations where the rights were strictly frowned upon to be even discussed and everything was supposed to be under the control of the management, the management posed as pro-workers but when it comes to anything the worker asks or requests to review, it was neglected or just hung over meetings for a long period of time which often tuned into harassment, which was my motivation to go into the HR field.

Psychological rights are not at all too much to ask of an employer, it is a natural evolution of the self protection mechanism of the human body, where nothing is more important than our own life. Since, human life is still given much more importance over anything else in the world (for eg. if a skier get caught in an avalanche, thousand of dollars of resources such as helicopters and rescue teams are sent for the rescue without thinking about the monetary cost but the cost of human life) it is practical to ask for the basic safety rights from the employers.

Employers can implement a number of tools in order to be move supportive to the employees in providing a safe environment. First of all proper training and education should be provided to the employee of their basic safety work rights which is a part of WHIMS training.

In addition to this, there should be tools available at the employees behest to be able to communicate their concerns without having the fear of being discriminated or considered under-performing for a certain reason.

Proper safety equipment should be provided to all the workers and efforts should be made to recognize their volition to be committed to the job.
