can someone please help me with this question
Jack is an avid DIY enthusiast and has multiple ongoing projects at home. Jack purchased a complete shower/bathroom kit from Ace Plumbing to replace his bathroom. The salesperson from Ace Plumbing asks Jack if he would like to apply for a store card. The salesperson tells Jack that the application will take less than 10 minutes. After signing the credit contract, he can take the shower/bathroom kit home immediately. After a quick credit check with Bay Finance, Ace Plumbing offers Jack a credit contract with its finance company (at 18% interest). The salesperson explains the obligations to Jack under the contract, and after agreeing, Jack signs the credit contract and takes the shower/bathroom kit home.
Jack had a very busy two months when he realized he had not received any statements from Ace Plumbing Finance. Concerned, Jack reached out to Ace Plumbing Finance, only to learn that he needed to access his account through a website portal and make electronic payments - they did not post paper statements. Moreover, he has also discovered that Ace Plumbing Finance has sold its business to Tripper Finance, and they longer deal with his account. Tripper Finance has begun debt recovery proceedings against Jack.
With reference to the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2005 NZ - Advise Jack.
