The bus companies (stage buses) often suffered losses and some of the operations and not viable for services. These were due to the isolate locations, less number of target groups, distance, high maintenance costs, operational and increasing of fuel pricing. Based on the demand at particular areas, your company is required to setup bus services as the routes proposed. As a new transport officer, you are planning to implement the services in response the government needs as required. The details of assignment are as follows (Table 3);
- Calculate the total number trips for each bus in the operational hours. (4 marks)
- Calculate the total of bus required in the whole day of operations and prepare the bus schedules. (4 marks)
- Calculate and propose the price of the ticket (one way) through based calculation (Table 3) and the government rate (Table 4) from Changlun to Kangar. Justify and why (4 marks)
- Calculate the fuel usage for the whole movements of buses in one day(4 marks)
e. Calculate the BEP (Breakeven point) for one bus and the whole movements and justify. (4 marks)
