You're doing a creative writing assignment, imagining you'll have to rebuild your society. Post five paragraphs in your initial post covering the following:

Step #1- Imagine you are creating a post-apocalyptic society. There are no social services, and readily available resources are hard to come by. You and a small group have been fortunate enough to survive the apocalypse and are fairly well stocked. - What do you do? Using our foundations in ethical formation class, decide what your new society 4C's (creed, code, cult, community)? thinks is the ultimate meaning of life and how to live accordingly. Step #2- Based on your ultimate meaning of life, decide who is, and who is not entitled to the rights of personhood in your group. Exactly what rights do those with personhood have? What can those without personhood do?

Step #3- Choose any one of the philosophers we've discussed throughout the course and apply their views to your new society.

Is your society generally altruistic/egoistic, deontological/utilitarian, reasoned or emotional, somewhere in between? Whose philosophy would most closely match your new society's? Use paragraph 3 to answer.

Step #4- DESTROY YOUR ETHIC! What would be the ultimate threat to your society? What would destroy its ethical soul? What could possibly be put in place to prevent this scenario from occurring?

Make sure that whatever tactics you use to prevent destruction don't violate the ethic you began with. In that way, you would completely destroy yourself!

Describe the threat to your society and your counter-tactic in paragraph 4.

Step #5- Your social legacy must live on! What stories would your society pass on to coming generations? How will these stories be taught (hard/soft universalism, relativism, nihilism/skepticism, etc)?

What lessons can it instill for the future? How will your ethics be taught? Provide your answer in paragraph 5.
