One data mining software I have seen is Sass, or SQL Server Analysis Services. And an open source software I have seen used for data mining games for potentially cut content or modding is Rapid miner.

I am very familiar with SQL and their data structure as my first two jobs were sql based software. SQL is fairly cost effective software solution but its not as expensive as other options out there.

Rapid miner is a free open source data mining software used widely for the gaming industry to take a part games and look over the files and frequently used to find unused assets or unused data.

SQL can be used by large data basses as it can be used for a company at any level of data storage, sql is very good at scaling and handling large or small data sets. Rapid miner is good at taking apart quick sets of data to find the information within, it tends to take far longer with larger data sets as its not built for scaling very well.

Identify a commercial data mining software product (e.g., SAS) and an open-source data mining product (e.g., R). Based on objective reviews of each (e.g., Gartner), compare and contrast the two products. In your responses, describe the type of organization for which one of these products might be the best fit, and provide examples, if possible.
