Bottled water increased in absolute volume more than any other beverage category in the U.S. Bottled water sales increased by 6.7 percent in 2012, and now total $11.8 billion.

1) Estimate the per capita consumption from 2011 from data in the statement.

2) If bottled water sales are up by 6.7% in 2012 to a total of $11.8 billion, what were the sales in 2011?
