Introduction
As we work through this course we will be creating documents to add to your portfolio. The first document you will create is your "Mission Statement" or career goal(s).
The Assignment
Construct a career mission statement that works for you and your life's purpose. Write something on paper as a starting point about what you want to do with your life. This is similar to an objective on a resume. Do not be afraid to revise it several times until you have determined your best career mission statement. When you are finished type it into a Microsoft Word document for submission.
Resources
Before you construct your mission statement you should visit several company websites and look at professional business mission statements to get a feel for how to write them. You should also search online using search words like, "career mission statement" for other examples.
Acceptable Length
A mission statement should be no more than a paragraph (5-6 sentences) long.
Formatting Requirements
Put your name, course and section number, and assignment title at the top of the document.
Use one-inch margins.
Use a 12-point Times New Roman font.
Use double line spacing in the document.
Grading Criteria
To receive full credit for this assignment you will need to follow the standard for mission statements, the formatting requirements and produce a well thought out and meaningful goals.
