Case #2.
I was called in a woodworking company making high-end toys. This was a super low budget operation in a building that I was sure had been condemned.
The issue here, again, was, the company was cash starved.
Then, they had a fire. The insurance company had been called in to assess the loss and was in the beginning stages of investigation.
I was asked in to give my opinion of the viability of the operation on-going. How much cash would they need to have a successful Christmas season?
Again, skullduggery was afoot! What the management team had done was to count their rejects and scrap as damaged good stock in their fire claim. They almost got away with it!
So, what could have been done to help catch/prevent this? Again, management was engaged in deception.
