Question:
Sally has been working in the organization for five years now. However, her timekeeping is slipping and she has been taking more time off sick than usual. Her boss has a chat with her and over a coffee discovers that Sally is frustrated. She feels she can do more and hates the restrictions of sitting at the computer all day. She feels she needs more of a challenge and would like to see a change in the way some of the systems and processes are working. In particular she is concerned that the organization is missing out on some major opportunities to attract new customers. Sally would like to capitalize on these ideas, but her dissatisfaction is leading her to consider other jobs offering higher salaries and greater opportunity.
As her boss you have always been pleased with Sally’s work but have been concerned that her current performance isn’t up to its usual level.
Question :
1.What do you think Sally’s motivational package (motivational drivers) consists of?
2.As her manager, what could you do to improve things?
