Case study 3 (10 Marks) Rahaf electronics manufacturing company started its operation in the year 2012. It has around 50 employees working in its head office. Mr. Mohammed is the owner of the business. He is a humble person who leads a simple life. He is from a remote village where most of the people are poor. His hard work made him successful in the business. Once in 3 months, he visits his village and spends one week with his parents. The last time when he visited the village, some of his friends met him and informed to support the people in the village. There are many young youths without jobs. Also, in some families, girls were not allowed to go for higher studies because their parents were not in a position to afford the expenses. So, they only allowed boys to do higher studies. Mr. Mohammed felt bad because he did not notice or give importance to such issues in his village. Every year, his company set a part of its profit towards the welfare of the society. This year, the company intends to distribute 50 pieces of 40-inch TV set to various Omani schools to convert normal classrooms to smart classrooms. Also, the company joined with the government to provide 50 laptops to the needy college students and also provided drinking water to people in Rumais in Barka. But he did not think about his village. Hence, Mohammed decided to be in his village for some more days and decided to do whatever possible with him. So he entrusted the company responsibility with Mr. Noufal, the senior staff in the company.In order to support the young youth, he started a small bread baking unit in the village. Also, he sponsored the girls to go to Muscat for higher studies. He said that there should not be any difference between boys and girls. Later, with the support of his friends he planted trees in the village and fixed big dust bins in various parts of the village. As Mohammed became busy in his village, he was not able to go to Muscat for 2 months. So, he managed his business through calls and emails. Later, when he went to the company, he felt something wrong. Employees were not happy. Mohammed considers employees as members of his family. He provides fair salary and hygienic work environment. But no one was ready to say anything. Even Noufal acted like he does not know anything. After two days, Mohammed received an email from an employee about the unethical activities happened in the company in his absence. As all were threatened by Noufal; and no one was ready to talk against him. Question 3 i.
