CASE STUDY ANALYSIS PROCESS:

Business case analysis is an important skill that will serve you well. In fact, many notable companies

$($e$.$g$.,$ Deloitte, McKinsey$)$ are notorious for having case analysis as part of their interview processes and I

have helped many students secure jobs at some of these companies. We will have case analyses in our live

sessions during the quarter and they are on the schedule in the course outline. The case readings are

posted in the content section of D$2$L for those weeks. It is expected that you come to having already read

$($or listened to$)$ the case and prepared to discuss it$.$ Helpful pointers to keep in mind for case analysis:

$$ Read $($or listen to$)$ the case twice to identify critical issues $/$ theme of case

$$ The case is telling a story and it$$s important to identify the underlying issues

$$ Make a list of information critical to issues $/$ themes

$$ Consider different levels of analysis $($e$.$g$.,$ macro, meso, and micro or the external

environment, the industry, and the firm$)$

$$ Consider key macro issues that could affect the firm, industry, and region$/$county

$$ Issues affects all industries across the globe; differences across regions and countries

$$ Industry level issues

$$ How is the company different from its competitors?
