Case study: Inventory Management System

The business currently tracks inventory manually, leading to inaccuracies, stock shortages, and overstock issues. The goal is to develop an automated system to manage stock levels, reorder products, and provide sales forecasts.

We have the following staff

Store Manager: Oversees inventory levels, initiates reorder processes, and reviews sales forecasts.

Sales Staff: Updates inventory levels based on sales or returns.

Supplier: Receives and fulfills orders for inventory restock.

Objective from the system

Automate inventory tracking to reduce manual errors.

Implement a reorder feature that automatically sends orders to suppliers based on predetermined stock levels.

Develop a sales forecast feature to predict future inventory needs based on historical sales data.

This case study involves analyzing the current manual system, identifying its shortcomings, and designing a new system with use cases for inventory tracking, reordering, and sales forecasting.
