Case Study: Is it ethical for a state to impose a mask mandate?

Work though what you think Kant, Utilitarianism, Virtue Ethics, Fairness Theory, and Ethic of Care would say about a case study

What is the ethical concern related to the case in the form of a question or a series of questions? What are the answers to these questions with separately applying each of the five main moral approaches (Utilitarianism, Kant's Categorical Imperative, Rawls's Fairness Principles of Distributive Justice, Ethics of Care, and Virtue Ethics)?

1. Utilitarianism- describe at some length the utility gained and who was affected. What would the Utilitarians say about your case?
2. Kant's Categorical Imperative- describe at some length what Kant would say about your case based on his principles we discussed in class and that was in our reading (Universalizable/Reversibility, Ends Principle)
3. Rawls's Fairness Principles of Distributive Justice- make sure to discuss the Equal Liberties Principle as well as the Difference Principle. Don't just talk about justice in general.
4. Ethic of Care- consider questions like: Does this situation involve opportunities to care for someone or a group of people? How would acting in such a way impact concrete relationships of the people and organizations involved?
5. Virtue Ethics- consider questions like: What are the character issues? What virtues and vices are at play in this case? What are their effects?
