CASE STUDY - NQS Rating
In this task, assume you are a staff at ABC Years Learning Centre and you are one of the attendees at the meeting in the scenario. You are required to discuss with them the situation of non-compliance in this Scenario.
SCENARIO
ABC recently had its NQS review and assessment conducted by the designated Regulatory Authority.A summary of the regulatory authority's review and assessment is as follows:
- ABC's service practices provide a safe education and care program; however
- There were areas for improvement identified in their service practices in relation to Quality Area 6 - Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities
- Revisions and improvements required in ABC's enrolment and orientation procedures and documentation.
- ABC to provide evidence that it has access to easy-to-read information about the service's operations and what they provide.
Based on these outcomes, ABC was given a final assessment rating of Working Towards National Quality Standard by the Regulatory Authority.
Management at ABC was somewhat disappointed by the outcomes of the review and thought having this rating will turn families off into enrolling their children in the service. Furthermore, not everyone agreed with the rating provided as the assessment findings with regard to Quality Area 6 are negligible.
To address the issue, it was suggested in this meeting that ABC display their rating as 'Meeting National Quality Standard' instead of 'Working Towards National Quality Standard.' As they said, they believe the assessment findings with regard to Quality Area 6 are negligible, and their next review isn't happening anytime soon. They can always change the rating displayed back to 'Working Towards National Quality Standard' in time for the regulatory authority's next visit. For your reference, ABC's service policies and procedures are as follows:
