- CASE STUDY:
The Be-Two Training Academy is a private teaching center, dedicated to vocational training. Its structure is made up of: a Managing Director, who performs administrative, organizational or coordination tasks and personnel management. A chief of staff, whose areas consist of coordinating teaching activities and, on the other hand, supervising the work of administration and services staff. This staff is made up of: the administrative officer, an administrative officer and an Administrative Assistant. The economic part is managed by an auditor. There are two custodians and a maintenance assistant. A Head of Service and an assistantwork in the IT section. A librarian and an assistant take care of the Library. There is a person in charge of cleaning.
The Academy has been in operation for approximately 20 years. Several directors and chiefs of staff have been through it, but the current team has been around for 10 years (and the current director is one of the owners).
The main problem has arisen when two of the employees hired since the beginning of the activities of the Academy have denounced the company for mobbing. This situation produced a great depression in the employee to such an extent that she had to cause a prolonged leave from ILT. Meanwhile, she sued the company, and got a favorable verdict. Another of the workers, an office clerk, very young and who in recent years had graduated in Labor Relations, begins to observe how her working conditions are constantly changing: hours, working days, tasks of more responsibility without training and the ensuing fights from the director. This worker also falls into a depression, causes leave and sues the company for breach of employment contract. She also wins the trial. The Director justifies the situation by saying that they were both lazy, they did not want to work and what they wanted was to annoy the company. Curiously, these people, in the opinion of some colleagues, were the most hard-working and efficient in the company. This situation of dirigisme regarding the rules and working conditions affects the entire workforce, in such a way that the Academy employees do not know what their work schedule will be, for example, until the previous week when it is sent to them via e-mail by the Chief of Staff. It is observed that there is increasing absenteeism on the part of teachers and also of students, despite the fact that their parents pay quite high fees for their training.
