Case Study; The Subject is; Public Relations Planning and Strategy. The University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) started as a private Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) in 1965. In 1978 it was taken over by government and in 1999 it formally became a public tertiary institution. In 2008 it was granted its own charter as a full-fledged university and mandated to run its own accredited programmes and award its own degrees and certificates. In 2012 it was by law renamed University of Professional Studies. From an initial 65 students in 1965, today the universitys student population is 15,000 and still counting. It offers both academic and professional programmes, from certificate to doctor of philosophy levels. The university has since repositioned itself as a centre of excellence in scholarship with professionalism, aiming to produce graduates who are critical thinkers and confident and who wield authority in their fields of discipline. It will celebrate the 23rd anniversary of its conversion to a full-fledged and independent university from Tuesday 4-Sunday 10 April 2022. The highlight of the occasion will be a grand durbar at the Madina Campus. The theme of the celebration is Giant Step into the Future. Management knows very well the capabilities of the Communication Studies students and in particular that they have fully imbibed the Public Relations Planning and Strategy lectures. It has therefore tasked the students to come up with the appropriate way of celebrating the anniversary and communicating this to its numerous publics. Requirement Draw up a campaign schedule for the celebration. The schedule should cut across all the communication categories you know of. Additionally, it should contain at least 3 specific communication tactics in each category used, the number of exposures of the tactics, the timeline for implementation and tasking. Demonstrate how you would implement the plan and what you would consider in measuring and evaluating the strategy.
