Case Study Three $$ Truth is Trouble

A senior manager in your organisation Tim is very active on social media, sharing his opinions

on various topics $-$ which might be deemed controversial. Several of his posts have been

brought to your attention by concerned colleagues. The employees perceived the posts as

having racist undertones and directed at specific cultural groups.

The concern is also that this is publicly accessible and it is not hard with a bit of searching to

identify who Tim works for. This is troubling as his views contradict the organisation$$s stance

on these issues.

Clearly, Tim has a right to his opinion but this situation could reflect poorly on the organisation

and also it is unsettling staff who could potentially leave $-$ noting this is the tightest labour

market in $50$ years.

As the HR team $-$ Senior Management has asked you to come up with a solution to these issues

$-$ as the future of the organisation could be at risk $-$ Take us through your process for dealing

with this $-$ provide a $10-$minute presentation on the evaluation of the issue in the workplace and

propose options for addressing the issues identified.
