Case Study:

You are excited that you have completed your first subject in high school in Database technology. You wanted to demonstrate the skills you acquired in this subject hence you offered your ICT teacher to develop a simple database to store and manage your fellow students attendance in your ICT class. You had a discussion with your ICT teacher and you captured the things your teacher wants to have in the database. Based on this discussion, your ICT teacher requested the following:

• Record students attendance on daily bases.
• The database should generate the following reports:
  • Daily attendance report for the whole class showing both absent and attended students.
  • Attendance report per student showing attended and absent classes.
  • Attendance report per student showing only absent classes.

Using the process of building and using databases you studied in this course, you are requested to prepare a report describing the database solution to meet your ICT teacher requirements. The report should include in details the following:

• A complete description of your teacher requirements.
• A detailed design model of the entities needed to be included in the database
• A detailed design model of the forms required to capture the required data for all entities.
• A sample template for the required reports to be generated by the database.

You are required to prepare the project work in any appropriate format using MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Finally, you need to prepare presentation slides to demonstrate the proposed database solution to your ICT teacher and fellow students in the class.
