>> Good morning Sharon. It was at this park that the World War Two veteran defied police. They were watching his every move but he kept his focus on feeding the homeless. On the streets of Fort Lauderdale 90 year old Arnold Abbott is a folk hero.

>> Chef Arnold, as he's called, is famous here for feeding the homeless, something he and his organization, Love Thy Neighbor, have been doing for more than 20 years.

>> What makes you want to do this?

>> My beliefs in the brotherhood of man, the brotherhood of God. It's as simple as that. I believe I am my brother's keeper and love they neighbor as thyself.

>> But on Wednesday night not everyone was a fan of the chef's good deeds. After the last plate was served.

>> Anybody still hungry?

>> Police moved in, led him away, fingerprinted, and cited him for setting up a food line at a tourist hot spot on the beach.

>> They're trying to make it impossible for people to feed the homeless.

>> A new ordinance adopted by Fort Lauderdale city commission now makes it illegal to feed people in certain public places. The changes came after citizens and tourists complained.

>> Some of the feedings were overwhelming certain areas in the city and were almost providing for the exclusive use of public places and public spaces and public parks for homeless feedings and not allowing others to enjoy those parks.

>> Mayor Jack Seiler says the homeless can still be fed but only in designated areas. It's an argument Abbott's not buying.

>> I will fight them. They're not going to intimidate this old guy. I'm a tough old codger.

>> So far Abbott's not been arrested but he could face jail time. And now he's saying that he will fight the city for the right to feed the homeless and he plans to do that once again this weekend. Sharon.
