CEE 404/604- Group Exercise - September 25,2024
Names:
Consider flow in a smooth horizontal, rectangular channel that has a width of b=10 feet. The flow passes through a hydraulic jump before passing over a smooth bump that is 0.75 feet in height. The depth of flow over the bump is y3=3 feet. Neglect head losses associated with the bump.
a) Find the flow Q in cubic feet per second (cfs).
b) Find the velocities at each section (i.e.,v1,v2,v3, and v4).
c) Find the depths of flow at sections 1,2, and 4(i.e.,y1,y2, and y4).
d) Find the energy loss across the hydraulic jump in feet.
Answers i have so far is
Q=294.885 cfs which was gotten through froudes number squared
V3=9.83 fps which was obtained from Q=v*a
Now what should i solve for next
