Chapt. 4 Review

Rewrite the following sentences, correcting all errors of capitalization, grammar, agreement, parallelism, active/passive voice, punctuation (hyphens for compound adjectives), etc.

Remember to use hyphens in compound adjectives (more than one word that work as a unit to describe a noun). And watch out for misplaced or dangling modifiers!

Some sentences contain more than one error. When in doubt, read the relevant section in Chapt. 4.

1. Every one of the students want the exam postponed a week.

1. The girl was taken to the hospital for observation by her parents

1. Shelley Jones saw her ex-husbands Corolla pull out of the alley, driving recklessly.

1. The accident victim suffered a broken right arm, has a fractured pelvis, and his right lung was punctured.

1. James Strand was a full time accountant, also a volunteer at the local food pantry, and he works as a part time soccer referee.

1. The Mayor was sitting on a bench not far away

1. It was ruled by the judge that the committee acted within their rights when they voted to close the factory.

1. The 17 year old boy was driving to school when his motorcycle struck the bridge traveling an estimated 60 mph.
