Chapter 10 - Type I and Type II Errors Here's what you'll be doing in this discussion: 1. State your null and alternative hypothesis. 2. Describe what a Type I error would be, describe what a Type II error would be. Remember to make your initial post and respond to at least one of your peers. Did they determine the errors correctly? Which error would you consider worse? Here's how I would answer: 1. Ho: There will not be traffic. H1: There will be traffic. 2. A type I error rejects the null when it is actually true. In this case, that means I think there will be traffic, but really there is no traffic! So, I would leave early, but get to my destination early. A type II error does not reject the null, even though it's false. This means I think there would not be traffic, but in reality I get stuck in traffic.
