Chapter 13 Assignment - Due Mar. 04 - Point Value = 100 pts. ( 1. Write an Analytical Research report over Activity 13.13 on page 488 in your textbook. (This is the same topic you chose for your Chapter 11 Work Plan Assignment.) You will select a country where English is not the primary language and research social norms and customs (cultural dimensions). You do not have to interview an international student who is native to your chosen country, but you may. Take a look at Figure 13.4 on page 488-489 Intercultural Interview Topics and Questions for ideas on search topics about your chosen country. This is an individual assignment, which means group work is not allowed. Format: For an example of an Analytical Report, review Model Document 13.2 found on pages 471-480 in your textbook. You do not need all of these preface pages such as letter of transmittal, table of contents, executive summary. Your first page of your report should look like the title page on page 471, and the first numbered page of your report, which would be page 1, will start with your introduction. (Note, the model report is single spaced, but your report should be double spaced.) This is a great visual; however, remember the content of your report will follow activity 13.13 on page 488. Other Guidelines: These guidelines are expected to be followed and will result in five point penalties, or more, if not followed in your final written report. Similarity must not exceed 25% in Turnitin. Paraphrase to avoid similarity results and make sure to use in-text citations. One point penalty for every percent over. Length 5 to 10 typewritten pages (including your title page and references page) Spacing double indent paragraphs (do not "double-double" between paragraphs, this creates a quadruple space) Font Size 12 pt. Headings use appropriate headings (at least to first-level subheadings throughout the entire report) see Model Document 12.2 found on page 424 of your textbook. Margins this will be an unbound report margins should be 1 top, bottom, left, right. Title Page see Model Document 13.2 found on page 471 of your textbook. Use a four spot title page Writing Style - may use impersonal or personal writing, be consistent Page Numbering number pages in format of your choice. Title page should not have a page number. Conclusions & Recommendations - must have at least five conclusions and five recommendations that relate to the data points presented. Format each one as a bullet with a transitional paragraphs between the two sections. References must use at least three sources (one must be within last 6 mos. to year). Must reference as in-text citations within your report. Must have at least two scholar secondary sources books, journals, magazines, newspapers, online articles. May also include primary sources from personal interviews or surveys. A helpful website is the Research Report Library Guide - for assistance on how to find credible sources and how to format your in-text citations and works cited sources. You may not use Wikipedia as a source. If you do, it will cost you 25 pts.! If you do not cite your sources, you will receive a five point penalty per source not cited (25 pts. penalty). Do not just copy and paste from your sources; you should paraphrase and then properly cite your sources within your report. See chapter 11 learning outcome 4 on pages 390 - 394 4 for information on paraphrasing and citations, as well as Appendix B. A zero will be assigned for reports that exhibit plagiarism. References Page - List sources on last page of report See Appendix B on Documentation Formats. Use MLA or APA documentation format. Must list complete source information, not just websites.
