• Chapter 3 focuses on managing systems projects. Project managers and the project management teams usually expect the project they are managing will end in success. There are several factors that can affect the success of any project. Consider the factors that define a successful project: on time completion, completion of project within projected budget, and delivery of a product that meets user requirements. Discuss some of the characteristics of successful project managers and determine which of these characteristics you think are most important to the success of a project. Be sure to consider the characteristics that might be important in a project manager who needs to mitigate any issues that may arise that threaten the success of a project such as the project going over budget or falling behind schedule.
