Activity #1: Calculating Statistics in StatCrunch We are going to enter the small set of temperature data from the Handout and then calculate the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation. Log into MyStatLab, and select StatCrunch/StatCrunch website/Open StatCrunch. Label the top as Temperatures (where it says var1), and then enter these values in the column below that: 32 35 28 34 29 33 26 1. Sometimes it's easier to examine data if they are listed in order from smallest to greatest. StatCrunch can do that for us. Sort the data in ascending order: Data Sort. What is the smallest value? What is the largest value? What is the range? 2. Use StatCrunch to find the number of pieces of data in your set (this is n), the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation of the data.
