Therefore, minimizing and controlling employee absenteeism is an important focus for most companies. The text discusses five of the methods that employers sometimes use to try to control absenteeism (pages 164 - 165). Review these methods, and then determine which method you believe would be the most effective. Also, think about any experiences you have had with absenteeism policies. Prepare a post detailing: Which method do you think would be the most effective? Explain your reasoning. Why do you think this method would be more effective than others? Would the effectiveness of the absenteeism policy/control method depend on the type of business or employee population? Explain. What experience have you had with absenteeism programs and policies?
