Developing Effective Survey Questions

Good survey questions generally possess the following characteristics: simple to answer, nonleading, exhaustive and unambiguous, and contain one idea.

Online survey software makes it easier than ever to develop surveys to measure satisfaction and needs of employees, customers, clients, and prospects. In this exercise, you will assume that you are a human resources professional at your organization. Your supervisor has put you in a team that is creating a survey to find out areas in which employees in your organization want training. Your team has drafted a set of questions; you will evaluate whether they will be ineffective or effective.
