Chlorella, spherical shape green microalgae, is harvested from a raceway pond. Upon harvest, algal biomass is concentrated with disc centrifuge, whose effluent is further concentrated in a tubular centrifuge. The tubular centrifuge is 1.2 m in height, the outer radius is 15 cm, and the distance to the liquid interface is 11 cm. The operational speed of the centrifuge is 6,000 rpm. Effluent from disc centrifuge has the viscosity of 1.02 cP and density of 1.01 g/cm3. The cell density is approximated at 1.03 g/cm3. Estimate the flow rate to recover all Chlorella cells with a diameter larger than 10 m.
