Choose a standard that you feels is essential that every student understand before they leave your specific grade level. Research your state standards and other resources to determine a vertical alignment of the grade level below and above your selected grade level. Follow the steps presented in section 3 of your course work and write learning objectives for the standard you have selected as essential
