Choose an issue that is current and debatable, one that could be argued from different perspectives. The topic could be relevant to your college, your community, nationally, or even globally. Define your position on the issue and provide relevant reasons to back it up. Since this is an argument, be sure to include a refutation that addresses a reasonable aspect of the opposing view. Ultimately, your goal is to fairly explain your side and your opponent's side of the issue, while highlighting the differences between these opposing views. Solid reasoning and factual evidence will be key to persuading your readers that your view is more valid than the opposing one.
