J) What rules/policies (if any) in this organization impact the interactions between employees of different generations? 12:44 I LIEU Answer A) I had a conflict in September 2016 the year started working for the company. The conflict i had was about my work that i am not working properly in store not stocking up the stuff on time. One of my co-worker complained about me. I remember the day when the owner asked me about not stocking up on time or forgetting to stock up on time he asked me why i am forgetting to stock things. At that time I was working 10 hours a day which were a lot of hours for me and he did not have any other employee to cover the shift for like about a month only 2 employees were working. I explained him before i started the job i told you that I can not work more than 6 hours and now you want me to work for 10 hours everyday so definitely i have more responsibilities from store and i also explained him anout my other responsibilities to take care off so i can't give all my attention to work that's why i am forgetting the some products from list to stock in store. Then he told me ok now i am gonna put an easy work load on you since you have been working 10 hours a day from July I was feeling stressed and pressured 12:44 GET things. Then he told me ok now i am gonna put an easy work load on you since you have been working 10 hours a day from July I was feeling stressed and pressured about that conflict before I had a conversation with the owner. This conflict occurred for about a week. But it was a constructive conflict when he saw me working hard to keep up. He hired some new employees and promoted me to the manager post of the store and I started managing the store making schedules, responsible for ordering the inventories, giving orders for paychecks. Since then I have been a manager of the store. 12:45 LTE then I have been a manager of the store. B) The values of different Generations: Just like different issues or aspects of life shaped each generation's viewpoint of the world, it also shaped and molded the values of each generation. My boss belongs to Generation X. I would say he has a lack of loyalty to his business because it looked like he didn't wanna run his business anymore because the business was not going so well. Generation X: Balance, diversity, lack of loyalty to an organization, and a global mindset. C) I took a mild action to defend myself because knew that I was not wrong and did him a favor by working more hours when he had no employees and I explained to him very gently that we have already discussed that when you hired me that I can't work more hours. If i am working more hours than there is a higher chance of me not completing work on time. D) He knew I was right and responded in favor of me and worked with me to find the possible solutions on it and to find new employees who can help him and me out to divide the workload. E) There was no third person involved in it who resolved the problem. F) The outcome of the conflict was dividing the work into different employees and himself until he hired more employees. He worked in a store with me and one other co-worker and he divided the work into shifts in a day. I started working 5 hours a day. G) The change in the company rules/policy after this conflict is not to put work burden on one employee and divide the work hours and work responsibilities into shifts like whoever will work in morning will do this and whoever will work in evening will do this. H) I started feeling easy and comfortable with the outcome because the issue was resolved after 3 months of stress from July to September. I was very satisfied with that outcome and happy with more than any extent. 1) Based on this experience i took a lesson on how to handle a conflict in different situations and in future if i would see any conflict at different workplace or with different employees where i am working so i will involve in the matter and ask my coworkers or boss if i can help or give any suggestions J) Until I am working in this company I don't see any specific rules/policy in this company impact the interactions between employees of different generations unless the employee would meet our work expectations.
