CJA/386 hello class The study is an example of inferential statistics. This is because the administrators are taking a portion (offenders granted parole or probation) out of the whole (all offenders serving time for crimes committed). Researchers should create a null hypothesis before conducting the study as it will show if results of recidivism are being made if their hypothesis none will be made out of the group being observed in this program. I also believe that they should have an alternative hypothesis. I believe this because researchers would be aware of recidivism being made in the offenders in the program. I believe the chi-square test would be beneficial because it will help the researchers determine if the results of recidivism are just by chance or if the results are actually because the offenders are a part of the program. I believe the ANOVA test would not be suitable as it is used to compare three or more groups. Where in this test they are only comparing two groups, the offenders granted parole or probation and the other offenders who have to serve the rest of their time sentenced incarcerated
