Class $2$: Systems Theory

Be able to describe the parts and dynamics $($ie feedback, adjustment$)$ of a generic process. There are $8$: the $6$ we have on the graphic plus purpose$/$goal and time.

Understand the $$hierarchy of systems$,$ so you can then apply them to a situation.

Be able to identify examples of these $4$ characteristics of all systems: entropy, synergy, interdependence, sub$-$optimization. How does each apply to designing business information systems?

What are the characteristics of an open system? A closed system? To delay entropy, which of those do we as systems analysts aspire to design toward?

Know the SDLC primary phases, and the primary differences among them. $($we$$ll get into more detail for Test $2$ but know this for Test $1).$ This is mostly from Valacich Chap $1$
